What is the McKinney Annual Charity Event?

The true meaning of this event is marked by the invaluable connections made and the celebration of giving.

McKinney’s 5th Annual Charity Event is approaching! This event began when Founder & CEO, Damian McKinney, sought a way to both celebrate our successes of the year and give back to the community. The true meaning of this event is marked by the invaluable connections made and the celebration of giving.

How it Works:

Each year, we feature four different charities and invite the top influentials of San Diego to gather at the Fairmont Grand Del Mar to celebrate the causes. All attendees have the opportunity to learn about the charities throughout the course of the evening. Each executive ticket is complimentary to our invited guests, and includes a $100 voucher to donate to a featured charity of the guests’ choice. Each voucher is donated on your behalf by McKinney Capital & Advisory and will be donated in their name.

Who Attends the Event?

We collaborate on the guest list with the charities and corporate sponsors. Guests are typically decision makers or C-Suite executives of their firms. Each guest is also philanthropically minded. Meeting others with a shared passion is a great way to make connections and build relationships with others in the community.

Our 2016 Featured Charities

  • Helen Woodward Animal Center: Helen Woodward Animal Center is committed to “helping people help animals, and animals helping people.” They offer educational and therapeutic programs for people, and humane care and adoption for animals. One of our team members, Julie Dunlap, is extremely passionate about this cause and is very involved in the organization.
  • Noah Homes: The purpose of Noah Homes is to help maximize the quality of life for adults with developmental disabilities, and create a safe and loving space where individuals who have developmental disabilities can call “home”. Two of our team members, Peter Quinn and Renato Alesiani, serve on the board for this organization.
  • San Diego Blood Bank: The mission of the San Diego Blood Bank is to save lives with quality blood services in partnership with the community. Every year, more than 120,000 units of blood provided by SDBB are transfused into patients of all ages and backgrounds throughout San Diego County, who are struggling with life threatening medical conditions.
  • Traveling Stories: Did you know that 50% of adults in America cannot read a book written at an 8th grade level? Traveling Stories exists to inspire a love of reading, and “outsmarting poverty, one book at a time.” Its Story Tent programs create a safe space for readers and provides personalized reading support they need to improve their literacy skills, and their World Libraries provide reading opportunities to underprivileged youth, globally.

We partner with Ferrari Productions to create a video to highlight each of the charities. Watch this video to learn more about charities we have featured in previous years.

Our team is looking forward to celebrate these amazing causes along with our successes of the year, while anticipating the year to follow. We would also like to thank this year’s Corporate Sponsors: Allenbrooke, ARCO Construction, City National Bank, Ferrari Productions, HME, LevitZacks, Sage Executive Group, SHARP Business Systems, and Wealth Legacy Group.

By surrounding ourselves with servant-led individuals, we find that the charitable giving of time, talent, and treasure are not mutually exclusive, but intertwined.
