Building Relationships Beyond the Office the McKinney Way
Don’t let fear stop you from doing the things you want to do. When you are with good people who know what they are doing, you can enjoy the rewards of taking risks.
Business is done best when working with people you know, like, and trust.
At McKinney, we are all about building relationships. This past weekend my co-worker Dan and I went to Southern Utah to go camping, climbing, caving, and hiking. Our adventures took us hundreds of feet below ground and thousands of feet above it. At times it was scary being crammed between rocks far below ground in absolute darkness or traversing a cliff’s edge thousands of feet high, only holding onto a chain while you dangle off the edge.
These experiences certainly covered the full range of the emotional spectrum and it made me realize that is it alright to be afraid. Just don’t let fear stop you from doing the things you want to do. When you are with good people who know what they are doing, you can enjoy the rewards of taking risks.
Like a weekend of adventuring, the business cycle has its times of highs and lows. These periods of change are best navigated with experienced friends and trusted advisors. By working with people who know what they are doing, you can mitigate the risks and increase the rewards. When you have a group of people who can execute and enjoy doing so, you have a winning team. We take our relationships with clients past the transaction and our friendships at work go out of the office. This is why I love the people I work with and I welcome you to work with us.
