McKinney Dines in the Dark to Support Foundation Finding Blindness

Foundation Fighting Blindness (FFB) works to restore sight to the visually impared

We are proud to be supporters of this wonderful organization. Foundation Fighting Blindness (FFB) works to restore sight to the visually impared and is actively involved in over hundreds of research studies.

I first learned about this organization when a colleague invited me to “dine in the dark”. As he is known for his practical jokes, I was a little concerned. I did attend the 2013 event, and successfully “dined in the dark” with a room full of people. We were served a delicious dinner completely in the dark, passed drinks around the table, and experienced for the first time what it would be like to live in a dark world. It was a trully unique experience. Following, FFB also participated in our 2013 Charity Event, It was an honor to have this organization with us and to continue partnership with them.

We would like to invite others in San Diego to learn more about FFB and living in a visually impared world. Please join us at their annual event, Dining in the Dark!

The Foundation Fighting Blindness will host the San Diego Dining in the Dark Visionary Awards Dinner on Wednesday, May 28 at 6pm at The US Grant. The Foundation is pleased to honor two outstanding individuals at this year’s event: LARRY BOCK, Founder of USA Science & Engineering Festival, and RICHARD KLAUSNER, M.D., Senior Vice President and Chief Medical Officer, Illumina, Inc. Dining in the Dark is a powerful dining experience that will take you on a journey of taste, sound, and touch…all in the dark. Proceeds will support the Foundation Fighting Blindness’ mission to find treatments and cures for blindness.
