Surrounded by Excellence at the SDBJ CFO of the Year Ceremony

The CFO interfaces with many departments within an organization, and in recent years, the job description itself has morphed into a much larger role within those organizations.

It was a privilege to be named a San Diego Business Journal CFO Finalist this year. It was truly a humbling moment to be mentioned and cheered as I was introduced at the awards ceremony last Wednesday, March 16th, 2016. Many new and old friends were in attendance as the event hosted over 500 guests. Thank you to Hal Dunning and Barney and Barney for their sponsorship, along with all the other sponsors. In addition, I enjoyed meeting fellow CFO from Barney and Barney, Steven Berk.

The CFO interfaces with many departments within an organization, and in recent years, the job description itself has morphed into a much larger role within those organizations. A CFO’s role is not just accounting anymore, as the finalists this week exhibited. The overwhelming sentiment of the attendees was that we cannot live in a vacuum, we need to change with the times, and we need to surround ourselves with excellence.
