Supporting the San Diego Hall of Fame’s Salute to Champions

It was an honor for me to be able to support this event on behalf of McKinney Capital & Advisory as an award sponsor.

The Breitbard Hall of Fame, located in San Diego’s historic Balboa Park, exists to honor native San Diegan professional athletes, and celebrate their athletic excellence. Since 1953, the Hall of Fame has inducted 140 members, spanning across 20 different sports!

Each February, new members are inducted at a Salute to Champions Dinner, which I had the pleasure of attending this year. The evening was filled with both professional and amateur athletes and every sport from hockey to baseball was represented. The young people were enthusiastic and provided an electric energy to the room. The professional athletes were warm and welcoming and very patient with the young autograph seekers. Everyone enjoyed the presentations and even the speakers were given plenty of time to share their experiences and thoughts.

Charles Camarata, from the South Bay high schools, was passionate about youth sports and the necessity for quick and responsive medicine for athletes. Reilly Boyt, a challenged athlete, spoke of her dedication to swimming and her determination to overcome her challenges like any other athlete and compete in the Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. Paul Vaden gave an inspirational talk on how sports have impacted both him and his family. Thank you, Paul, for your insight and encouraging words from which we can all benefit.

Congratulations again to all the new inductees of the Breitbard Hall of Fame. I am thankful for the opportunity to been there for the honoring of these individuals for what has grown to be the ultimate tribute for local athletes.
